Day 133

Like most parents, my free time and money went to recreational activities Constance enjoyed. One trip we took was to a production of the Red Kite Project at the Chicago Children's Theatre. They put on incredible, interactive shows specifically for children with special needs. Each part of the experience is specially crafted to ensure the child enjoys it. They ask critical questions about sensory needs and physical limitations before the show. Then, from the moment you arrive, they engage your child in a magical world built for them.

The entire world is built for typical kids. This was just for the dozen kids in the room, customized for each of them. Constance played in the faux rain of a storm while riding on a cloud. She smiled through smushes, tickles, and loving attention from the actors. I took photos and wept silently. It is a special memory.
