A case can be made that grief turns you into a zombie. My life is too scary for a Halloween celebration.

Constance once had a birthday party celebration that was a scare-free, sensory-friendly costume party. It was held a before Halloween. My father and stepmother were in the country and came in costume. Constance’s classmates from Cherry came. A bunch of the families came in group costumes. Constance was a little overwhelmed and shyly hid for a part of the party. Her favorite section was the cupcake decorating station.

I’m going to spend the day looking at the photos of that party and eating chocolate. I eat chocolate every day so that probably shouldn’t count.
