One of our places of worship has a monthly newsletter. Below is an excerpt from the April publication of this year that mentions Constance. I like that it talks about my darling daughter as a person; and not an idea, event, or a diagnosis.

From the April Monthly Newsletter
We were stunned with sadness over the loss of Constance on March 15. Constance was a member and a bright spot in our place of worship. She enjoyed playing in our backyard on the swing set and seemed happy here. We enjoyed watching as she started to learn to verbalize as well as her interaction with her service dog. She brought many smiles to our faces.
When a child dies the whole universe seems turned upside down. We struggle to make sense of it all. We can only reach out to her grieving parents and listen to their stories.
Constance was eight years old. Several members attended her memorial on March 18. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be given to Aspiritech, 1893 Sheridan Rd, Unit 103, Highland Park, IL 60035 (Aspiritech.org) or Cherry Preschool’s Inclusion Program, 1418 Lake St, Evanston, IL 60201 (CherryPreschool.org).
