Brindha is the kind of thoughtful friend who went out of her way to include Constance in her son's birthday parties and to make sure that I met her other amazing friends like Marcus and Michelle.
Brindha was born in, and her curutual heritage is Indian Hindu. We had a blast getting Brindha's nose pierced. While we were there the person doing the piercing explained post-piercing care. He said that things getting on your face might be an issue. For example, a strong wind, a new soap, an abrasive exfoliating cleanser, etc. I tagged onto the list, “a B.J.” Brindha laughed. She joked about all of the B.J.s she was going to be getting now that her nose was pierced. The piercer kept looking at us and saying things like, “I do not judge. Whatever the two of you like to do it is not my business.” I didn’t correct his missconceptions. Instead, I laughed riotously.
After we left, I turned to Brindha and explained, “Brindha, when a woman does it to a man it’s called a B.J.. When you convince your husband to do it to you, it’s called your birthday’!” We laughed until we cried.
Brindha was incredibly brave during the piercing. The result was beautiful. I love doing things like this with friends. It makes me feel fortunate to have such fun friends and reluctant to leave Chicago.
Wow! I can't imagine getting a nose piercing. Your friend is brave. I don't even have my ears pierced! 😁
Thank you for holding my hand. Nose is healing quite while. P/s BJ’s= zero !
